Nature Photography by Lucia Wei
ABOUT
I'm Lucia Wei, a high school student, nature enthusiast, and artist based in Southern California. I have always loved exploring nature, especially the fascinating world of fungi.
Every summer break of my high school, I travel to the forests of Yunnan, China, one of the world's most biodiverse regions. From the misty mountains of Gaoligongshan to the tropical forests of Pu'er and Daweishan, I explore trails, searching for wild mushrooms and photographing the different species I encounter.
My camera has accompanied me through rainy forests, muddy paths, and even nighttime adventures in search of glowing fungi.
As both a photographer and an artist, I'm fascinated by the unusual discoveries found in nature. I created Worlds Unseen to share my photographs and the wonderful little worlds I've encountered along the way. From tiny details beneath mushroom caps to creatures hidden deep in the forest, each series is a collection of discoveries from my journeys.
